Rebel Wilson has shared the shocking revelation that she was once kidnapped and held at gunpoint in Mozambique.
The Pitch Perfect actress opens up about her terrifying ordeal while speaking to Ant Middleton on his programme Straight Talking, which airs on Sky One tomorrow.
At one point during the episode, Rebel shared according to The Sun: ‘There was one time in Africa where I got kidnapped. It was in rural Mozambique.
‘We were on this cattle truck and these men came on another truck with a lot of guns. [They pulled up beside us] with the big guns and they were like, “Yeah, you’ve got to get off your truck”.’
Rebel and her friends were than taken to an isolated house ‘in the middle of nowhere’ and the actress admits she’s proud of how she handled the frightening situation.
‘I felt like I was very good in the crisis. I was like a team leader,’ she said.
The Cats star then revealed: ‘They sat us down, and I said, “Everybody link arms”, because I was petrified in the night that they might want to take one of the girls or something.
‘Luckily we weren’t harmed and then the next day they came and said, “Your truck is ready now. You can go go go”. We didn’t ask any questions.’
Rebel and her friends were convinced their kidnappers hid drugs into their truck but luckily made it out of the country safely.
‘We just got back on that truck and got out of there and crossed the South African border a few hours later,’ the Hollywood star revealed.
‘I think maybe those guys, maybe, used us to smuggle illegal things in the bottom of the truck.’
Ant, 40, was understandably taken aback by Rebel’s revelation and responded: ‘I was expecting you to say, “Yeah I came face to face with a snake or a spider”, and then you tell me you got kidnapped at gunpoint.’
The SAS: Who Dares Wins star then joked that Rebel’s next step should be to make a ‘hardcore’ action movie.
Rebel is certainly fighting fit these days after embarking on a weight loss journey and reaching her goal weight with a month to spare.
With a new zest for life, the actress joked she was ready to take on action hero Tom Cruise in a Mission: Impossible movie.
