One year after their wedding, Rita Ora and Taika Waititi have finally made their wedding images public.
They’ve been tight-lipped about it up until now, with the exception of an easter egg in her music video for You & I, and the duo has said they’ve liked keeping it a secret.
Fortunately for those of us who enjoy monitoring other people’s weddings, they’ve now folded and disclosed that the wedding took place at their Los Angeles home, with Rita, 32, donning a Tom Ford gown for the occasion before changing into two additional amusing costumes, both by the designer, for the occasion.
‘I didn’t know whether the proper dress was even going to be in town, and I simply took the risk and went to the Tom Ford shop, and they had it exactly waiting with the veil, in my size, no changes needed,’ Rita explained.
She answered yes to a one-shoulder white lace gown with huge bows that was ideally suited to her physique. The floor-length veil and clunky shoes completed the elegant outfit.
She told Vogue, who got exclusive access to their wedding album: ‘I mean, it was like it was meant to be, to be honest. And it just made me so happy’.

They arranged their wedding in just two weeks after Rita proposed.
The wedding included just eight attendees, including Rita’s sister Elena and director Taika’s children Te Hinekahu and Matewa Kiritapu, as well as their parents, who attended via Zoom.
Rita described the day as ‘blissful and calm and private and fun,’ while Taika, 47, added, ‘It was beautiful’.
They decided against traditional wedding details such as table settings, and caterers to keep things relaxed. Their Magnolia Bakery cake also showed their fun side with the words ‘We’re married b*****s’ etched onto the top in red icing.
‘It was almost like another day. We just all dressed up and got married,’ Rita explained.

They subsequently went to an afterparty at their buddy Guy Oseary’s place, where they were greeted by an Elvis Presley lookalike and Rita donned a ruffled dress.
As the sun set, she completed a clothing change hatrick by wearing flared trousers and an open blouse.
The day was perfect for them, and Rita has proclaimed herself “the happiest bride in the world.”
The couple also discussed their engagement with Taika, admitting that Rita proposed after about a year of dating.
‘She proposed to me, and I said “yes” instantly,’ he recalled.
Happy one-year anniversary Rita and Taika!
