Romeo Beckham has reportedly signed with Fort Lauderdale FC.
The 19-year-old looks set to follow in his dad’s footsteps with a career in football, as he updated his Instagram bio to read: ‘Footballer for @fortlauderdalecf’.
Romeo has signed to USL League One side Fort Lauderdale – the reserve team of MLS side Inter Miami which is owned by David.
The star has also been sharing snaps of himself training in the Fort Lauderdale uniform, with the caption for the most recent photo reading: ‘Follow your dreams.’
Mum Victoria commented, writing: ‘We are so proud of you Romeo x’.
A source told the Miami Herald that Romeo may make his debut on Saturday as the team plays at home against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC.
Dad David is of course best known for his incredible football career, previously playing for Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan and PSG, as well as the England national team.
In 2018, Miami CF was founded, with Phil Neville acting as Head Coach.
It’s been a big week for Romeo as he also celebrated his 19th birthday.
Family and friends shared sweet messages for the big day, with David posting a snap of him kissing his son when he was a young child.
‘Happy 19th birthday to my beautiful boy ❤️,’ he wrote.
‘Have the most amazing day we love you so much and are so proud of the man ( almost ) that you have become.. Keep being you and never change ( apart from the team you support ) ❤️ Love you Ro Ro ⚽️ Love always Dad ❤️’.
