Rylan Clark-Neal has revealed he’s waving goodbye to his trademark teeth – or at least the current version of them.

The toothy TV personality, who found fame on The X Factor in 2012, has been known for his impressively white veneers since he got them in 2013.

Taking to Twitter on Monday afternoon, the Strictly: It Takes Two presenter wrote: ‘After 8 years. It hurts, so much, but sometimes you just have to let go. I’ve taken the decision to say goodbye… to my teeth,’ with a laugh-crying emoji.

He added: ‘New smile imminent’, alongside a grinning emoji.

His ultrabright beam was said to have set him back an eye-watering £25,000, but the 33-year-old has always shown a good sense of humour about his gnashers, even thanking Love Island’s Connor Durman for ‘taking the heat off me a bit’ when the toothsome reality TV contestant was introduced to viewers in January 2020.

His tooth transformation decision may well have been a long time coming, with the Big Brother star admitting as far back as 2016 that his pearly whites were his ‘biggest mistake’.

Speaking to Bang Showbiz at that year’s National Television Awards, he shared: ‘My biggest mistake was my teeth but, to be fair, they’ve earned me a lot of money.’

He’s also poked fun at his own changing look over the years, revealing an unlikely celebrity doppelgänger in Milan footballer Olivier Giroud, who he pretended was a version of himself ten years earlier in 2019.

He then revealed the real throwback pic of himself, pre-teeth transformation and with blonde hair, writing: ‘Here’s the real one #10yearchallenge #10YearsAgoChallenge he didn’t do too bad.’

Earlier this month, the presenter had a stressful experience when his bank account was targeted by hackers.

However, he took it in his stride as he announced the worrying news to fans on Twitter, posting: ‘Someone’s tried to get into my account ain’t they’, and pairing it with a gif of Kristen Wiig’s character in Bridesmaids declaring ‘Help me I’m poor’.

He was also able to share better news later that afternoon, when it was announced that his weekend radio show on BBC Radio 2, Rylan On Saturdays, had reached a jaw-dropping 2.3m listeners.

He wrote simply: ‘Thank you so much.’
