Rylan Clark-Neal was reportedly offered one year off from his BBC Radio 2 job after appearing to have a breakdown off air.

The beloved 32-year-old presenter, who is currently going through the breakup of his marriage, is said to have concerned bosses after crying during his show.

The Sun claims Rylan’s colleagues cued music to give him a moment to compose himself.

‘Rylan’s one of the BBC’s favourite stars,’ an insider said. ‘When he returned to work everyone supported him but when he broke down people were concerned he’d come back too fast.

‘One of the BBC’s top brass was at the meeting. They even suggested he take a year’s break to focus on himself. Ultimately, they want Rylan to feel supported and happy.’

The source added to the publication: ‘Following some time away from his show, we’re delighted Rylan is back on air.’
