Scream 5 has finished filming ahead of the 2022 release date, but it turns out we’re not the only ones who have no clue who Ghostface is.
In fact, bosses took extra measures to keep the cast, including Courteney Cox, Neve Campbell and David Arquette, completely in the dark.
Chatting about the latest instalment of the horror franchise, producer William Sherak confirmed that multiple versions of the script were handed out to the stars.
CinemaBlend states he said: ‘I think the two things to remember for us. One is there are multiple versions of the draft out there and most of the cast don’t know if they have the right version or not.
‘So we’ve been playing that game with them as well. And the fun of a Scream movie is that everyone is guilty until proven innocent, not the other way around.
‘So the goal is to keep that going for as long as possible and have fun with it.’
Those Scream bosses have been taking tips from the Marvel gang when it comes to leaks…
It was announced earlier this year that we would be returning to Woodsboro, years after Scream 4 hit the cinemas.
Weeks after filming kicked off, Kevin Williamson revealed that things had wrapped, with the flick set to be released on January, 2022.
Taking to Twitter, he blessed fans with a string of photos from set, telling us all: ‘That’s a wrap on Scream, which I’m excited to announce is the official title of the next film!
‘Nearly 25 years ago, when I wrote Scream and Wes Craven brought it to life, I could not have imagined the lasting impact it would have on you, the fans.
‘I’m excited for you to return to Woodsboro and get really scared again. I believe Wes would’ve been so proud of the film that Matt and Tyler are making.
‘I’m thrilled to be reunited with Neve, Courteney, David and Marley, and to be working alongside a new filmmaking team and incredible cast of newcomers that have come together to continue Wes’s legacy with the upcoming relaunch of the franchise that I hold so dear to my heart.’
‘See you in theatres January 2022. #ScreamMovie @ScreamMovies,’ he concluded.
Bring it on.
