Selena Gomez has fiercely responded to those attempting to bodyshame her, and we admire her for it.
The Rare Beauty creator, 30, looked lovely in a floor-length Valentino gown at the Golden Globes earlier this week.
Selena Gomez attended the lavish celebration after being nominated for best television actress – musical/comedy series for Only Murders In The Building, however she was defeated by Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson.
Despite this, the Lose You To Love Me singer had a great time strolling the red carpet with her nine-year-old sister, Gracie Elliott Teefey.
Unfortunately, despite the fact that Selena exuded confidence and delight as she posed for photographers, online trolls couldn’t resist the impulse to make disparaging remarks about her weight.
Selena said that it’s just water off a duck’s back by addressing critics of her physical appearance.
Speaking in an Instagram Live alongside her little sis, she told her followers: ‘I’m a little bit big right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays.’
‘Right?’, she asked Gracie.
The child appeared to agree, but Selena could only chuckle.
‘But we don’t care,’ she added, bursting into a cackle.
Selena has already addressed critics after receiving negative comments about her body.
Last year, the Disney child star made it clear in a TikTok video that she would not tolerate such abuse.
‘I am perfect the way I am,’ she said confidently.
‘Honestly, I don’t care about my weight because people b***h about it anyway,’ Selena laughed, before quoting some of the things people have said to her.
‘You’re too small, you’re too big, that doesn’t fit… meh meh meh meh,’ she said in a mocking tone.
The star is open when it comes to mental health, previously admitting that she needs to take time off social media to protect her well-being.

In 2014, she was also diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune condition characterised by the immune system attacking the body’s connective tissue, damaging and, in severe cases, killing critical organs such as the joints, kidneys, and heart.
As a result, it’s been known for patients with lupus to have weight changes, as well as rashes, muscular soreness, joint pain, swelling, and, in more serious situations, kidney failure.
The Love You Like A Love Song singer then received a kidney transplant in 2017 owing to lupus issues.
‘There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis. Lupus continues to be very misunderstood but progress is being made,’ she shared at the time.
