A collision has sent members of Shania Twain’s tour crew to the hospital.
The world-famous singer, 58, was driving with her entourage between Winnipeg and Saskatoon, Canada, when the accident occurred at 7 a.m. on Wednesday.
Shania was not on the bus that crashed, leaving 13 passengers wounded.
Speaking after the incident, Shania’s managers Maverick Management said: ‘Members of the production crew who require medical attention have been taken to nearby hospitals.’
They added to CTV News: ‘We are incredibly thankful to the emergency services teams for their quick response and ongoing support.
‘We ask for patience as we look after our touring family.’
According to authorities, the 13 persons injured had non-life threatening injuries. Images from the accident revealed extensive damage to a tour bus on the side of an ice roadway after it and a vehicle both slid off the road.
Beat The Street owner Joerg Philipp stated on Instagram that his company’s cars were involved in the incident, which he claimed was caused by “black ice on the roadway.”
In a statement confirming he was ‘devastated’ over the accident, he said: ‘The incident took place on the Trans-Canadian Highway near Wolseley, SK.
‘All the passengers and driver are being evaluated for injuries and were immediately attended to by emergency responders and transported to the hospital for further treatment as needed.’
Philipp added: ‘The Beat The Street USA Team is cooperating with local authorities to respond to this incident.
‘Our top priority is the health and well-being of our passengers.’
Shania was supposed to perform her next gig in Saskatoon on Thursday, around 200 miles from Wolseley, but it’s unclear if that will be cancelled.
Shania has yet to address the crash.
