The security specialist is believed to have squandered his fortune and intended to plunder the homes of A-listers and former customers, including Simon Cowell’s.
After previously been employed by celebrities to secure their residences, police detained the guy on suspicion of employing a lock decoding device.
According to The Sun, he purchased the lock decoder from Bulgaria and it was capable of cracking tungsten-strengthened locks fitted on the doors of the wealthy.
After supposedly working as a security guard for hundreds of properties and being familiar with their house layouts, he also possessed exclusive knowledge on how to obtain entrance to celebrities’ expensive residences.
Simon, 63, of Britain’s Got Talent, expressed shock after learning of the man’s plans.
‘When I initially was told about this story by The Sun, I couldn’t believe it,’ he began.
‘It was like something out of a science fiction film.
He thanked the outlet for ‘working hard’ to ‘expose’ the matter.

Simon, 63, of Britain’s Got Talent, expressed shock after learning of the man’s plans.
Simon said: ‘The fact that it is possible for a person to obtain the software code to sell to someone so they could rob the house my family lives in is disgusting.
‘To even consider doing this is dangerous and reckless.
‘People who attempt to enter other people’s homes couldn’t care less of the consequences and how people living in these houses could have been affected.’
Simon is said to have spent more than £500,000 safeguarding his property.
Along with the talent show contestant, the individual is suspected of targeting the homes of a globally recognised singer, a TV household brand, a Russian billionaire, an athlete, and a Chinese multi-millionaire.
The individual allegedly boasted about being able to target ‘thousands of residences’ owned by wealthy celebrities.
The 49-year-old father of one, who owns a £1 million five-bedroom home in Hertfordshire, is alleged to have asked a previous thief for assistance in carrying out his illegal scheme.
He provided specifics on the decoder required and paid over £750 to purchase it.
He allegedly then gave his would-be collaborator a copy of the lock he had installed on Simon’s house so he could rehearse cracking it.
The suspect was detained overnight before being released on bail.
