Simon Cowell looked in high spirits as he was spotted walking for the first time since he was ‘nearly paralysed’ following a horrific bike crash.
The Britain’s Got Talent boss was rushed to hospital in early August after falling off the bike at his home in Malibu, leaving him needing surgery for injuries to his back.
According to the MailOnline, he had a six-and-a-half-hour surgery to fuse the breaks in his spine and was millimetres away from being paralysed.
Now, the music mogul is back on his feet, and he has been pictured strolling happily around Malibu, California, with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman, 43, and their son Eric, six.
Simon wore a simple T-shirt along with white shorts and a white face mask for his family jaunt in the sun.
The 61-year-old carried a shopping bag as they visited a beauty boutique in the beachfront city.
A friend of Simon told MailOnline that he ‘felt lucky to be recovering at all’ after his surgery.
They said: ‘He definitely no longer feels invincible and this has been a wake up for him about his health and lifestyle.
‘He was nearly paralysed and feels lucky to be recovering at all.’
The star celebrated his 61st birthday with close friends and family in early October.
It also marked the first time was seen since breaking his back.
Terri Seymour, TV presenter and Simon’s ex-girlfriend, visited the TV mogul at his Malibu, California home for a celebration and filmed him blowing out a candle on his cake.
Simon’s son Eric joyfully led the party and danced while singing happy birthday to his beloved dad alongside Terri’s daughter Coco, five.
His longtime partner Lauren also sat at the table, helping Simon ring in the new chapter.
Simon was forced to miss the finals of Britain’s Got Talent as he was unable to fly to the UK from his home in America.
However, he is hoping to return in early 2021 to start filming the next series of the hit ITV show.
