Sir Anthony Hopkins shares moment he got Covid-19 vaccine as he dubs it ‘light at the end of the tunnel’

Sir Anthony Hopkins has shared the moment he received the Covid-19 vaccine, declaring it the ‘light at the end of the tunnel’.

The legendary actor issued a thank you to everyone who made it possible for him to receive the jab, after he has been in quarantine for a year amid the pandemic.

In the video, which the 83-year-old shared to Twitter, he can be seen wearing a mask and visor as he receives the vaccination.

He wrote: ‘THANK YOU http://PublicHealth.LACounty.Gov CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, and my dear friend, Dr. Maria Teresa Ochoa.

‘Light at the end of the tunnel (after one year of self imposed quarantine).’

Sir Anthony has been keeping himself busy, and keeping fans’ spirits up while in quarantine, from dancing to Drake’s Toosie Slide to serenading his cat Niblo.

Opening up about lockdown in a video, Anthony explained: ‘As you can see, I’m in self-quarantine.

‘I’m 82 years of age, and I find lots of things to do, for example I play the piano for Niblo, he’s busy at the moment, he’s writing his memoir.

‘Also painting, just for the fun of it. And I’m afraid Niblo does not really approve of my work. I think he’s probably a better painter than me.’

The video ended with a shot of Niblo sticking his tongue out, and Anthony sticking his out back at him, adding: ‘What can I tell you?’

Here’s hoping Sir Anthony and Niblo are one step closer to getting back to normal life – although we think the cat serenades should stick around.
