Stacey Solomon has come for the ‘glove police’ quizzing her on why her one-year-old son Rex was seen without a pair while out in the snow.
The Loose Women star, 31, has proven herself to be quite the expert when it comes to shutting down the ‘Susans’ (as she likes to call them) on social media and when the ‘glove police’ came out in full force, she made sure to do just that.
Stacey had shared adorable snaps and videos of her family out enjoying the snow together, with one cute photo showing her and Rex (sans gloves) cuddling up while heading over to see the ducks.
Noticing Rex’s bare hands, one user responded to Stacey’s story asking why the tot wasn’t wearing gloves and commenting that his hands must be ‘freezing’.
Stacey – only too happy to respond – insisted that if she could keep her youngster’s gloves on his hands, then she would. The only problem is, doing so isn’t so simple.
‘A message to the glove police. If I could get Rex to keep his gloves, hat and coat on I would, believe me, but he is a toddler,’ Stacey fired back.
‘Anyone out there with one knows that they start off wearing it all and as the walk goes on they rip their hat off a thousand times, drop their gloves in the snow and tread on them until they’re soaking wet and no longer any use and they moan the whole time to take their coat off.’
‘And then, after all that, they cry when their hands get cold,’ she vented.
‘Anyone out there keeping all items of winter wear on their toddlers all day is my hero. I salute you,’ she teased.
Stacey shares Rex with fiancé Joe Swash, who she got engaged to on Christmas Eve. She is also mum to sons Zachary, 12, and Leighton, eight, from previous relationships, while Joe is dad to son Harry, 13.
TV star Stacey was also seen replying to a fan who asked whether she wants to have more children in the future – particularly a girl.
Insisting that she won’t actively be trying for a girl, Stacey insisted she is ‘so grateful’ to have her boys in her life, joking that there’s nothing she enjoys more than ‘taking them down John Cena style’, as she shared a video of them wrestling in the snow.
Their family outing comes after Stacey revealed when she hopes to marry partner Joe, as she explained they’ve already set a date.
Keeping the specific date to herself, Stacey told fans she and Joe will wed at the end of summer later this year if their wedding plans can go ahead amid the coronavirus pandemic.
She explained: ‘So many questions, so I’ve tried to answer the most asked ones. We are hoping to get married end of summer. We know we won’t be [allowed] many people, but still unclear on exactly how many.’
‘We will most likely need to have a table for every household, but again not clear with vaccine progress etc… It may all be stopped like so many people’s special days have been over the last year, but planning and making bits makes me happy and trying to think positively about the future is always nice,’ Stacey said.
As her big day approaches, Stacey has been doing what she does best and crafting for her wedding. So far she has made personalised table coasters, homemade table numbers and adorable push-up pots of biodegradable confetti.
Stacey and Joe, who have been dating since 2016, confirmed their engagement in December 2020.
