Stacey Solomon returned to social media following the death of her beloved dog Theo, and said the ‘heartfelt’ messages of support gave her ‘comfort’.

The Loose Women presenter admitted she was ‘utterly heartbroken’ when announcing Theo had died over the festive period.

On Thursday, the 32-year-old shared an emotional post about how difficult the family’s Christmas was due to Theo’s declining health.

Alongside an adorable photo of her baby daughter Rose, Stacey wrote: ‘Rose’s First Christmas🌹 With all that happened over Christmas i didn’t take any photos. But Joe got this one I love it so much, I didn’t want 2022 to sneak up on me or Roses first Christmas to pass by before I got to share it ♥️.

‘I hope you all have had a lovely Christmas. And are enjoying this in betweeny bit where no one knows what day it is ♥️.’

She added: ‘Thank you all so much for your kind, heartfelt messages for Theo. They’ve brought me so much comfort when I really needed it so I’m truly grateful. Love you all lots and lots ♥️.’

The former X Factor star announced on Tuesday that Theo had died in her arms ‘surrounded by all of us at pickle cottage’, referring to her and fiance Joe Swash’s country home.

Stacey continued: ‘For 11 wonderful years we were so lucky to have her. Our hearts are utterly broken. She was just the best dog in the world who adored the boys and Rose. I can’t even begin to explain how lost I feel without her.’

Showing clips of the Pomeranian snuggled in bed, lying in the grass and playing with Stacey’s children, the star added that she was ‘grateful to have filmed so many beautiful memories’.

The TV star also mentioned the ‘special bond’ Theo had with her two-year-old son Rex ‘because you knew he needed you at the beginning’.

She continued: ‘I am so lost. Even going to the toilet and not having you at my feet. The doorbell goes and there’s no bark.

‘I climbed into bed for the first time in 11 years and you weren’t jumping in with me. I’m so lost without you Theo.’
