Stacey Solomon ‘utterly heartbroken’ as beloved dog dies: ‘I’m so lost without you’

Stacey Solomon has announced the death of her ‘best protector in the whole wide world’ as her beloved dog Theo died over the festive period.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the 32-year-old shared a tribute of pictures and videos of her and her family enjoying time with the pooch.

Using a black and white background picture of a Christmas knitted garment, she began: ‘Hello Everyone, I hope you’ve had the most wonderful Christmas with your loved ones. It is with the heaviest of hearts that I’m writing this…’

Moving to another picture of the Loose Woman star cradling Theo in a blanket on the sofa, alongside their sausage dog Peanut, Stacey continued: ‘Our beautiful Theo passed away. She fell asleep in my arms surrounded by all of us at pickle cottage. For 11 wonderful years we were so lucky to have her.

Our hearts are utterly broken. She was just the best dog in the world who adored the boys and Rose. I can’t even begin to explain how lost I feel without her.’

Showing clips of the Pomeranian snuggled in bed, lying in the grass and playing with Stacey’s children, the star added that she was ‘grateful to have filmed so many beautiful memories’.

She also mentioned the ‘special bond’ Theo had with her two-year-old son Rex ‘because you knew he needed you at the beginning.’

She continued: ‘I am so lost. Even going to the toilet and not having you at my feet. The doorbell goes and there’s no bark.

‘I climbed into bed for the first time in 11 years and you weren’t jumping in with me. I’m so lost without you Theo.’

Paying tribute to her ‘little girl’ on her Instagram grid, the X Factor star shared more photos of Theo through the years with her children – Zachary, 13, Leighton, nine, and Rex. She is also mum to two-month-old Rose with fiancé Joe Swash.

She penned: ‘Sweet Dreams Theo. The best friend we could have ever wished for. Our hearts are broken.

‘Yesterday at home in our arms we had to say goodnight to our Theo. 11 wonderful years. We were so lucky to love you Fifi and we will never stop. My lap has never felt so empty. I miss you so much already. My little girl. But oh my goodness the memories and the love you brought into our lives.’

She added: ‘Thank you for everything Theo. For protecting me and the boys when we needed it most. For loving us no matter what and for holding on for so long and waiting to meet your little sister Rose. Rex has had the best friend in you that he could ever have wished for and the boys have had the best protector in the whole wide world. Even though Rex is only little I know him, Zachary and Leighton will never ever forget you.

‘Peanut is missing his cuddle buddy very much so we are trying to make it up to him in our cuddles but I know it’s just not the same.

‘Too the moon and back Theo ♥️ Forever ♥️ Sleep tight my beautiful little lady,’ she finished.

Friends rushed to offer their condolences in the comments, including Instagram influencer Mrs Hinch, who wrote: ‘Theo’s memories will last forever and ever because dogs are family and always always will be.’

The star’s Loose Women colleagues also offered their sympathies with Nadia Sawalha writing: ‘Oh Stacey I’m so sorry darling xxx.’

Meanwhile, TV presenter Ruth Langsford put: ‘Oh Stacey… I’m so, so sorry. Heartbroken doesn’t even come close.

‘What a wonderful life she had with you all though… hold on tight to those memories. Sending you all love and a huge hug.’
