Shirley Ballas has got seven stitches after slicing open her hand on broken glass in a gruesome home accident.
The Strictly Come Dancing judge showed off the painful-looking cut on her Instagram stories as she documented her dash to the hospital on Monday.
Shirley, 60, explained: ‘This morning, I sliced my hand and it went so deep that it’s really really through the flesh.
‘There was blood everywhere, so I’m now at A&E and I think I’m going to have a few stitches. Watch this space.’
The former professional dancer then had to get an X-ray ‘o check if there is any glass in there’, and said: ‘I think it’s gone all the way through to the tendons so they’re going to send me to another hospital.’
Shirley showed off the deep wound from a hospital room, writing on her stories: ‘Being as strong as I can. Ready to check the tendon damage. It looks small but extremely painful.’

The NHS team were able to stitch up Shirley’s hand, and she shared that she had to wear a plastic bag over her right hand when having a shower.
The BBC star said: ‘All bagged up now, and ready to go in the shower to attempt to do everything with my left hand, since this has got seven stitches in it now and it’s going to be poorly and not well for a while. But watch this space.’
Thankfully the accident didn’t happen in a television kitchen, as Shirley is currently starring on Cooking With The Stars.
Despite saying she has plain taste in food, Shirley’s culinary skills were praised and she made it through to the next week, with Naughty Boy becoming the first celebrity to be eliminated.
She’ll be trading cooking up a storm for something a little more glamorous in a few months time as Strictly Come Dancing is set to return this autumn, with Shirley as head judge once more.

She will have a new panel-mate in the form of Anton Du Beke, who is taking over from Bruno Tonioli, whose work in the US means he will be unable to travel back to the UK each week.
Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse will also return as judges.
Anton’s move to the judges’ table and Janette Manrara’s decision to leave the show to host It Takes Two means that a host of new dancers have joined the professional stable, with Jowita Przystal, Kai Widdington, Nikita Kuzmin and Cameron Lombard signing up.
They will join Aljaž Škorjanec, Amy Dowden, Dianne Buswell, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Graziano Di Prima, Johannes Radebe, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Luba Mushtuk, Nadiya Bychkova, Nancy Xu, Neil Jones and Oti Mabuse.
However, it remains to be seen just who will get a celebrity partner – and who those celebs will be.Original article published here.
