Mollie King and Stuart Broad have kicked off 2021 by getting engaged, as the singer showed off her stunning diamond ring.
The Saturdays star, 33, shared a photo of her and her cricketer fiancé, 34, sharing a kiss on a walk in the countryside, showing off her engagement ring as she placed a hand on his face.
She told her followers: ‘A thousand times yes! I still can’t believe it, the most magical start to the new year! I can’t wait to spend all my years with you @stuartbroad’.
Stuart shared the same romantic image, adding: ‘The best way to start 2021 @mollieking’.
The pair’s celebrity friends were quick to congratulate the happy couple, with Love Island’s Megan Barton-Hanson writing: ‘Congratulations’ while Emily Atack added: ‘Ahhhhh this is lovely!!! Huge congrats’.
Clara Amfo joked: ‘It was our chat on the radio that did it innit?! congrats MK!’ and Matt Baker added: ‘Huge Congratulations to you both!!! Wonderful News !!!! X’.
Mollie’s Saturdays bandmate Vanessa White sent a series of heart emojis, and Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown added: ‘Ohhhhh lovely lady!!!! I’m so happy for you!!!! Congratulations.’
On Stuart’s post, Piers Morgan wrote: ‘Congrats to you both!’ and Chris Hughes told them: ‘Congrats guys’.
Mollie and Stuart, who was a Sports Personality Of The Year nominee in 2020, have been dating since 2012 but were reported to have briefly split in 2018 before getting back together.
Prior to the proposal, Mollie had admitted she was nervous about Stuart jetting off to Sri Lanka to play for England amid the ongoing pandemic.
She wrote on Instagram: ‘So it’s 2021! If you’re anything like me you might be going into this year feeling a bit anxious and uncertain.
‘I often get the January blues and this year is going to be especially tough with everything that’s going on.
‘@stuartbroad also goes away tomorrow with cricket which is always a mix of feeling excited for him but knowing I’m going to miss him so much.’
