The Walking Dead star Samantha Morton was rushed to A&E on Monday night.
The 43-year-old confirmed that she had been admitted to hospital last night as she thanked the accident and emergency staff at the Conquest Hospital in East Sussex.
Morton tweeted: ‘Thankyou to all the A and E staff at the Conquest who helped me tonight. I’m so grateful for our NHS,to see the red zone first hand and the nurses and doctors being so kind and wonderful to us all was humbling.
‘I’m ok tonight because of them. #SaveOurNHS #WearAMask #COVID19 [sic].’
The red zone is in reference to hospital wards used to treat Covid-19 patients.
The Oscar-nominated actress then shared a picture of herself in hospital, wearing both a face mask and a face shield.
Morton tweeted in the early hours of Tuesday morning: ‘I’m on the mend. I’ll get there and thank you so much for the well wishes.’
It is unknown why Morton was admitted to A&E.
Matthew Wright was among those sending their well wishes, tweeting: ‘Great news u r on the mend – it’s a scary bug.’
Line Of Duty star Vicky McClure added: ‘Speedy recovery Sam xxx’, while Industry actor Mark Dexter wrote: ‘Argh! Dammit. So sorry to learn of this Sam (except maybe the ‘on the mend’ bit) sending love and a top up for your superpowers. Take it slow, don’t give the damn thing opportunities to linger. (Though, it’s picked the wrong target with this badass. I almost feel sorry for it!)’
Fans also wished Morton a speedy recovery.
