Tom Parker has revealed his brain tumour is stable after a positive result from his latest MRI scan.

The Wanted star, 33, underwent a scan earlier in the week to check on the progress of his treatment after being diagnosed with a stage four glioblastoma last year.

He took to Instagram to share the brilliant news with his followers, writing: ‘I’m sat here with tears in my eyes as i tell you. We’ve got my brain tumour under control.

‘We had the results from my latest scan…and I’m delighted to say it is STABLE. Such a mix of emotions.

‘We couldn’t ask for any more really at this point; a year or so in to this journey. Honestly over the moon. We can sleep a little easier tonight.’

He concluded: ‘Thank you for all your love and support over the last 12+ months. Love from Me,Kelsey, Aurelia & Bo.’

Tom has kept his followers updated with his progress since finding out he had the incurable tumour, having been through gruelling chemo and radiotherapy.

He has previously seen reductions in the size of his tumour, which is now stable, and is working to regain the strength in his left side which was affected by it.

Tom had been diagnosed after suffering seizures while on a family holiday last year, just weeks before his son Bodhi was born.

He had been alone when he was told the news he had cancer due to the coronavirus pandemic, and detailed the difficult conversation on Stand Up 2 Cancer.

His journey had also been documented on his documentary Tom Parker: In My Head where he admitted his fears for the future.

‘I don’t want people to treat me different just because I’ve got something, I think that was always on my mind,’ he said.

‘I do feel like I’m in a much stronger place, but it’s so hard to think about the future. Do you know what I mean? I genuinely don’t know what it holds anymore.’
