Tom Daley has been knitting at the end of his diving board and have you ever heard a more Tom Daley sentence?
The Olympian has picked his knitting needles back up for a great cause as he takes on an epic challenge for Comic Relief.
He’ll be tackling a four-day journey from London to Plymouth by foot, water, boat and bike – because clearly being a diving champion hasn’t worn him out just yet!
Tom shared a video of himself knitting red noses to the sound of Shakira’s Whenever, Wherever in a rather precarious position at the end of the diving board.
He wrote: ‘WHENEVER, WHEREVER…💦 Getting into the Comic Relief 2022 spirit, making a hat and of course a red nose 😏
‘What are you making currently? And where is the weirdest place you knit?’
The 27-year-old also said of the challenge: ‘Lots of people would think after an Olympic Games and being successful at the Olympics, you would want a little break and put your feet up and not do any exercise for a little bit, but not me.
‘I’m always up for a new challenge, always up for trying something new, and when this opportunity came up, the thought of being able to do this with Comic Relief, to try and raise money.’
Tom took up knitting just before the first lockdown in March 2020 and has previously said the hobby comes as a welcome distraction when he is competing.
He was snapped with needles and wool on multiple occasions while watching his teammates at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, with fans getting a bit obsessed with his progress.
The star made an impressive Team GB cardigan, as well as blessing us with a replica of Harry Styles’ JW Anderson cardigan.
It seems like he’s not slowing down anytime soon!
