Tom Hanks, Angelina Jolie and Chris Pratt lead stars showing support for military families in adorable video

Tom Hanks, Angelina Jolie and Chris Pratt were among a whole host of stars who came together for a good cause and to show their support for military families in the US.

A star-studded video message has been doing the rounds online, where stars from all over dropped by as part of 2020’s Snowball Express event hosted by actor Gary Sinise’s foundation.

It’s an initiative set up to help the children of fallen military heroes and usually hosts a five-day trip to Disney World for over 1,750 children around Christmas time.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic the trip couldn’t go ahead, but that didn’t stop a whole bunch of celebrities stopping by to tell the families involved that they were thinking of them as a virtual celebration took place instead.

Heading up the video message was Forrest Gump actor Tom, 64, who gave a nod to the classic movie from 1994 as he told the kids he was helping out his ‘old buddy Lieutenant Dan’, who was played by Sinise.

‘Hey everybody on the Snowball Express, Covid-19 virtual version. Helping out my old buddy Lieutenant Dan. I hope everybody has a really great time,’ Tom said, assuring them that they’ll soon make it to Disney World as planned.

‘Disney World will be there again in the future, have a great time, throw some snowballs around,’ Tom said as he channeled his character, the conductor, from The Polar Express and shouted: ‘All aboard the Snowball Express. Well, you coming?’

Maleficent actress Jolie also appeared in the video and offered her support, as she said: ‘We owe so much to military families, more than we even know, so I am deeply grateful and thankful to all of you.’

Jurassic World star Pratt, meanwhile, treated the families to a special behind-the-scenes video from the movie franchise’s latest film Dominion.

He revealed: ‘I’m sending this from a very special place, I’m on the set of Jurassic Park: Dominion, I have some friends who want to say hi. Say hi everyone,’ as he switched the camera round to show his co-star Bryce Dallas Howard and the rest of the crew.

The Flight Attendant’s Kaley Cuoco also stopped by to give a special message, as she said: ‘My heart goes out to you, I appreciate you. I appreciate your families and your loved ones.’

She was joined in the video by her former co-star on The Big Bang Theory, Mayim Bialik, with the likes of Keanu Reeves, David Beckham, Gordon Ramsay, Mark Wahlberg and Riverdale’s KJ Apa also dropping in.

The Snowball Express is a year-long initiative that first came about in 2006 after a soldier, who later died in combat, wrote a letter to his wife where he said he wished they could have gone to Disney. Now, the project helps to bring military families to the resort in Orlando, Florida over Christmas.
