YouTuber Tyler Oakley has announced that he’s taking a break from vlogging for the first time in 12 years.
The 31-year-old internet star, who has seven million subscribers on the video platform, told his fans today that he was going to stop filming his day-to-day life in order to focus on new projects.
In the video, he was quick to assure fans that he would return at some point to the channel, but wasn’t sure when that would be.
He said: ‘I have been making videos and uploading them every single Tuesday at noon for years and years and years. If you have been watching since I have been in college… I was 18 when I started, and I’m now 31.’
‘You can go back and find any single week of my life between those two dates and see what i was up to.
‘I’ve never really taken a break – and it’s now time for me to take a break.’
Teasing that he was working on some new projects, he said: ‘I’m going to be focusing on some other stuff that I’m really excited about, and I’m really ready to develop out and make into some fun new little things.
‘I haven’t felt a fun, new little thing in a long long time.’
‘I am in no way leaving YouTube forever, so let me just say that,’ he assured.
‘I will be back at some point, but I’m not going to say when, because i don’t know when and it might take me a second.’
He then encouraged fans to tell him what they wanted to see when he did eventually return.
