Una Healy has disclosed her ‘throuple’ relationship with David Haye.
The Saturdays singer was at the centre of a great deal of rumours regarding a three-way relationship with athlete David and his girlfriend Sian, as the trio shared photos of themselves getting near on a vacation.
David appeared to affirm their relationship on Valentine’s Day when he paid tribute to the ‘Queens’ in his life.
Una herself had posted numerous photographs with the couple, and just this week posted a photo to her Instagram story of herself and David cuddling on a beach with the caption ‘it was me and him’ – but all traces of the couple have since vanished from her account.
Now, the musician has finally clarified what precisely transpired in that relationship, stating that she felt ‘duped’ after initially courting only David.
In an upcoming episode of Joanne McNally and Vogue Williams’ podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me, the mum-of-two explains she met David on Raya but initially decided against a romantic relationship with him as she googled him and saw ‘he did exactly to his wife what my ex-husband did to me.’
Ben Foden‘s infidelity caused Una and her ex-husband to divorce; they now co-parent their two children, Aoife, 11, and Tadhg, 8.
She and David became friends and began dating, despite Una’s scepticism of the athlete’s statement that he no longer believed in ‘traditional relationships’ and despite knowing he was seeing other women, she did not feel deceived because he was honest about it.
‘I knew he wasn’t husband material, just a bit of fun and I was enjoying it,’ she explained – until he admitted he was reconnecting with his ex-girlfriend Sian and wanted the two women to meet, according to The Mail Online.
Una stated that she didn’t want to meet Sian, but she was concerned that if he and his ex-girlfriend went public, he might be accused of cheating on Sian with Una. Therefore, she determined that if they were photographed together as a “happy family,” it would show that nobody was being harmed.
She asserted that the situation was not a “throuple” because she was never “romantic” with Sian and scarcely knew her, despite the fact that they went on several holidays together, including a Christmas trip because Una’s ex-husband had the children.
Una recalled the flight where David sat in the middle with one hand on each woman’s leg and quipped that they were both experiencing a’mid-life crisis.’
And as they posted photos to Instagram, Una began to observe the word ‘throuple,’ which she had to look up, and was abruptly ‘trolled to death.’
Eventually, Una realised that this wasn’t what she desired and acknowledged that one woman ‘will never be enough’ for David; he took it well when she told him she was leaving and quipped that she had been ‘unsubscribed from the team.’
However, she claimed their relationship was over when he posted the Valentine’s Day tribute to the ‘Queens in my life.’
Una was “in tatters” over her belief that she was in a three-way relationship, and she concurred with Joanne that she had been “duped into a tangle.”
She and David remain on amicable terms, and she’really relished’ the relationship with him, characterising him as ‘kind and honest’; however, she is now seeking monogamy.
Una acknowledged that it was a relief to finally reveal ‘the truth from the horse’s mouth’ after months of remaining silent on the subject.
As Una, David, and Sian made headlines, many people heard the term Throuple for the first time, and Channel 4 will shortly air a dating programme exploring polyamory.
The Finding the Ones programme will investigate the increasing prevalence of polyamory.
An advertisement from the channel stated that it is seeking participants for a “groundbreaking experiment” that will begin filming next month.
The ad is said to ask: ‘Are you single and ready for a new adventure? Are you willing to date more than one person at a time?’
After his relationship with Una ended, David prompted rumours that he and Sian had added a new member to their ‘team’ by embracing both Sian and influencer Mica Jova.
