Florence Pugh is taking pride of place on Zach Braff’s social media today, as the Scrubs actor paid heartfelt tribute to his girlfriend on her 25th birthday.
In a rare public display, the actor shared a series of photos of his paramour as she celebrated her special day.
The 45-year-old director blessed us with many a shot of the Black Widow actress, from hiking to the Hollywood sign, to them snuggled up on the couch.
In one photo, the pair pose atop a hill with Zach wrapping an arm around Florence, who is looking off into the distance with her arm outstretched.
For a couple who are seldom seen posing together, it may be Florence’s birthday but we’re the ones getting the presents.
The album came with a beautiful tribute, if we do say so ourselves, as he wrote: ‘Happy Birthday to the most fun person I’ve ever met.
‘I would have felt blessed to have smiled with you for one night. I can’t believe I get to giggle with you everyday.
‘What a pleasure it is to know you. What a gift to the world it was that you were born.’
Aaand we’re crying.
Zach had turned off the comments on the post, which may have something to do with the hate lobbed at the pair – who were first linked in early 2019 – for their age gap after Florence posted a birthday tribute to her partner last year.
After which, the legend posted a video insisting she wouldn’t tolerate any kind of hate on her page, let alone any directed at the pair’s 21-year age gap.
She said at the time: ‘I will not allow that behaviour on my page, I’m not about that. It makes me upset, it makes me sad that during this time when we really all need to be together, we need to be supporting one another.
‘We need to be loving one another, the world is aching and the world is dying and a few of you have decided to bully for no reason.
‘I’m 24 years old, I have been working since I was 17-years-old, I have been earning money since I was 17-years-old, I became an adult when I was 18-years-old and I started paying taxes when I was 18-years-old, I underline this fact, I am 24-years-old.
‘I do not need you tell me who I should and should not love, and I would never in my life ever tell anyone who they can and cannot love.’
While the couple maintain silence on their relationship mostly, Zach did address the video later last year.
Speaking to Mr Porter’s digital magazine, the actor explained: ‘She literally sat down, hit record on her phone and said that.
‘I thought: how could I possibly follow anything as intelligent and articulate as that? So, I chose not to.’
While appearing on Sue Perkins’ podcast An Hour Or So With… Florence also explained (not that she ever needed to) that relationships with men her own age ‘hasn’t worked’.
‘Once again, it’s making a young woman feel like s**t for no reason,’ she said. ‘I’ve always found it funny, how I can be good enough for people to watch my work and support my work and pay for tickets and I’m old enough to be an adult and pay taxes but I’m not old enough to know who I should and should not have sex with.
‘There’s a reason why I’m not with someone my age – it hasn’t worked, so who are you trying to match me up with?’
