Zara McDermott has been called out by angry fans after appearing to edit her latest Instagram post to remove any signs it was taken on holiday.
The Love Island star recently came under fire for travelling to the Maldives with boyfriend Sam Thompson over New Year.
The pair were accused of breaking tier four lockdown restrictions by flying overseas, when all international travel was prohibited unless given a legally permitted reason to do so.
Zara – who publicly fought to win Sam back after cheating on him – faced the wrath of fans once again while promoting her latest edit with fashion brand Missguided.
She posed in gymwear from her collection to announce a competition on her Instagram page – however, fans noticed that she had edited the background of the photo, when Missguided shared the same, un-edited, snap to their own account.
In Missguided’s post, the tropical background of the gym Zara is posing in is clearly visible, whereas in Zara’s post, the windows behind the reality star have been blurred out.
The edit didn’t go unnoticed by followers and they were quick to call it out, with one user sarcastically commenting on Zara’s post: ‘@zara_mcdermott looks quite tropical out of the window. Reminds me of central London ?.’
Comments were left on Missguided’s photo of Zara too, with people addressing Zara allegedly going against Covid-19 restrictions.
‘Forgot to edit the picture? Unforgivable that someone would break Tier 4 travel rules and fly off to the Maldives,’ wrote one user.
Another said: ‘Stop promoting selfish ‘celebrities’ who constantly break lockdown rules,’ while one more added: ‘We don’t support people who break lockdown rules ??.’
‘While the rest of us are locked in doors can’t see family or friends she’s in the Maldives,’ claimed one unimpressed follower, while one user insisted: ‘Not supporting anyone who has skipped off on holiday whilst we are in a lockdown and at the worst stage of the pandemic.’
It was reported that Zara and boyfriend Sam were seen flying out of London on December 27 while the city had been placed under strict tier four restrictions over the Christmas period.
A week earlier, the government had plunged London and the South East into tier four, banning travel, with even tighter restrictions coming into force on January 6 as England was put into its third national lockdown.
So far, neither Zara or Made In Chelsea star Sam have addressed the rule break claims.
