Zara McDermott has revealed she secretly had a boob job in November.
The Made In Chelsea star posted a YouTube video to tell her fans that she underwent surgery to make her breasts more symmetrical and add fullness.
The 24-year-old explained that after losing weight, she was left with a ‘completely flat chest’, while her breasts carried more tissue on the lower parts, leaving her with a lack of ‘volume’ on top.
Zara added: ‘I started to get more and more asymmetry as I got older. I used to wear 32D before I started eating healthier. A few months ago, I was probably wearing a C cup but this one was actually a small B and this one was a large C, so there was a bit of imbalance there.
‘I began feeling insecure about it, and my boobs just weren’t sitting right.’
Zara used to wear push-up bras and smaller clothes to boost her cleavage, but due to a compressed nerve in her neck, she couldn’t wear tight bras for too long due to the pressure they put on the nerve – which would lead to her fingers going numb.
The former Love Island star decided to get surgery 12 weeks ago, and after learning that she had a ‘pigeon chest’, she opted for a reduction on her left breast with a 200cc implant, and a 250cc implant on her right.
Zara said that the surgery was ‘a lot more painful than I expected’ and that the recovery was ‘not pretty’, as she developed a stitch abscess in the aftermath.
Describing the pain level of surgery as between a 6 and a 7.5 out of 10, Zara added on Instagram: ‘It was definitely uncomfortable. The incision really stung for a week or two, then went INSANELY itchy. Then faded into a dull ache but any pressure on the wound was painful for around a month. The area still feels a little fragile to the touch.’
However, 12 weeks on, she is delighted with the results, and believes the implants suit her figure.
On her YouTube channel, Zara showed off the scars that ran beneath her boobs, with the one on the left slightly larger than the scar on her right.
Although Zara chose to keep her surgery under wraps until she recovered, she denied that she as trying to hide the operation.
In response to a follower who asked why she ‘denied it for so long’, the reality star wrote: Crazy how people wanna assume the worst. I categorically have never once said “I haven’t had my boobs done” to anyone on social media since my surgery. I have only had them done for 12 weeks.
‘I was always planning on talking about it! Just when I was fully healed and feeling happy and confident with the result! That ok?’
Zara’s surgery came before she jetted off to the Maldives with boyfriend Sam Thompson – a trip that was roundly criticised by followers.
The couple enjoyed a getaway over the new year, and were accused of breaking tier four lockdown restrictions by flying overseas, when all international travel was prohibited unless given a legally permitted reason to do so.
Followers noticed that Zara had airbrushed the tropical background out of a post promoting her Missguided edit, after the brand posted the unedited version on Instagram.
