Zoe Sugg has shared an insight into the rollercoaster that is recovering from giving birth to her daughter Ottilie.
The YouTube star and boyfriend Alfie Deyes became first-time parents after welcoming their baby girl on August 29.
In her latest Instagram post, Zoe opened up about her post-natal recovery in hopes of spreading positivity to other new mums whose bodies are changing.
Alongside sweet photos of her enjoying a sunny walk with Ottilie, the 31-year-old influencer wrote: ‘The recovery in the fourth trimester really is no joke! You have days where you feel invincible & days where you stand up and you feel like your pelvic floor is going to give up on you and your organs are going to slip out of your stitched up vagina.
‘It’s a physical and mental rollercoaster and healing is not linear (well it hasn’t been for me, I’ve moved forward 10 steps one week and then gone back 15 the next) Every day that passes where I’m sat on the sofa or in bed I feel like I’m missing out on experiences with Ottilie whilst she’s still this small. I have fomo of “what could be” rather than anyone or anything in particular.’
She continued: ‘I don’t really know what the point of this post is, I think just to reassure any new mums out there that are in those first throws of post partum and feel like the healing process is a long and frustrating one, you will get to do that thing you want to do & you’re doing a bloody great job.
‘You’ve just done such a huge thing & you should be more gentle with yourself, after all you deserve it! I also want to tell you that with each day that passes, you heal that little bit more.’
Zoe announced Ottilie’s arrival a couple of days after giving birth, sharing the first photos of the newborn while also casually revealing her unique name.
‘She’s here! Meet Ottilie Rue Deyes 💕 29/08/21,’ she wrote.
Zoe and Alfie began dating in 2012 after becoming close friends and in October 2020 they celebrated their eighth anniversary together.
