Need a suit for an interview but struggling to afford it? H&M will now let you hire one for 24 hours for free.

The brand has launched One/Second/Suit in a bid to equip jobseekers with an outfit that makes them feel confident and ready to show off their skills.

H&M says: ‘A suit isn’t an outfit. It’s confidence. A signal to the world and a reminder to yourself you’ve got what it takes.’

‘Style the suit your way. Maybe you’ll keep it classic. Maybe you’ll pare it back. However, you wear it hold your head up high.’

Customers can reserve a suit online in a range of sizes and H&M will deliver it to their door.

After 24 hours, they can then return the suit to a store. H&M will take care of the washing and dry cleaning.

Late returns will incur a fee of £50, which will be donated to charity.

Like with any suit hire, customers will have to pay for any major damage so it’s best to be careful if you do hire one.

The full value of the suit is £116.94, so renting it for a wedding or a party is probably not a good idea.

Currently, only suits from the men’s section are available.

Sizes range from XS to XXL and each hire includes a navy blue single-breasted jacket, matching trousers, a white shirt, a navy blue tie and a red pocket square.

The scheme started in the UK this week.
