It’s prime time for party fashion and H&M’s latest collection has night out written all over it.
The Innovation Circular Design Story collection is H&M’s latest step in its sustainability initiative.
Made from recycled and recyclable materials, a cycle-oriented production method was used by the high-street brand. This means every part of the design process was considered from expected lifespan to design strategies.
Materials like cellulosic fiber produced from sustainably sourced wood pulp, recycled polyester and more make up the body of the garments.
Even better, the fashion is spectacular.
Experimental, colourful and with a high-fashion edge, these pieces are for those who want to express themselves through style.
Think 1980s wide shoulders, flouncing shapes, sparkles and sumptuous fabrics.
Dresses come in polka dots, sharp tailoring made with daring cutouts and ball gowns come as matching sets.
It’s joyful style at its best and each piece is made for the dance floor.
‘People have a certain image in mind when they hear about circularity,’ says Ann-Sofie Johansoon, the Creative Advisor at H&M. ‘With the Circular Design Story, we want to show that it is possible to design a stylish collection that is fun and incorporates circular design principles.
‘We want to present new possibilities and give hope for a more sustainable future.’
Meanwhile, Ella Soccorsi, Concept Designer at H&M adds: ‘Fashion has the power to transform, energise and empower.
‘The collection is a tribute to that and to the special anticipation you feel when you style yourself just before the party, full of joy to spend the evening with friends.’
The collection launches online and in selected stores from December 9.
