The allure of a sheer shirt has stood the test of time but as we head into spring the trend is set to grow exponentially thanks to the influx of second-skin tops dominating designer and high street collections.
Previous iterations came in block colour designs but the new wave of mesh tops feature loud prints and long sleeves, taking inspiration from ’90s club culture with neon piping and lettuce hems. Across the trend, tie-dye is the dominating print, with ASAI’s collection of Hot Wok tops selling out instantly online. Elsewhere, vintage lovers have been turning to Jean Paul Gaultier’s iconic sheer shirts emblazoned with religious imagery.
The high street has cottoned on too, with Weekday offering our favourite pieces via a series of space and flame-filled designs. Lazy Oaf has joined the party with a variety of colourful mesh tees, while Dolls Kill offers a collection of see-through shirts featuring photo-real graphics. How are we styling ours for our weekend walks? Tucked into jeans and accessorised with a puffer jacket and classic canvas kicks.
