The new season of Stranger Things dropped onto Netflix on May 27, and if you’re anything like us you’ve probably been listening to Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) on repeat ever since, while scouring the internet on how to join the infamous Hellfire Club.
Well, you’re in luck because you can now ‘join’ the Hawkins High resident Dungeons and Dragons club (kind of) by nabbing a super cool ‘Hellfire Club’ T-shirt – if you have a spare £150 that is.
Faster than the Mind Flayer and more in demand than Eggos when Eleven’s in town, these tees flew off the racks in Primark stores up and down the United Kingdom in an instant.
Retailing for just £10, they were a complete steal for fans of the popular sci-fi series.
Logging onto the Primark website to check the stock in stores, it’s clear to see that the racks are now empty of Hellfire Club t-shirts – with only full and low stock available in very few places.
Realising they were sitting on a goldmine, some shoppers saw just how sought after these T-shirts were, and decided to flog them on eBay – leaving dedicated Stranger Things fans devastated.
The Mirror reports that one listing on the online marketplace saw a cheeky seller flogging a single tee for a whopping £150.
Having a look of our own, we found around 30 listings of the Hellfire Club t-shirt from Primark, all being sold for upwards of £20 – with £49.99 currently the most expensive starting bid.
At the time of publication, one listing had amassed nine bids with the T-shirt now standing at £51 with less than two days of the auction left.
Taking to Twitter to share their frustrations, fans of the Netflix drama series united in sadness, with one penning: ‘@Primark pls restock all stranger things merch… couldn’t get any today and i was heartbroken.’
Someone else noted: ‘Imagine walking round Primark for an hour trying to find the new Stranger Things tops, only to find they sold out within an hour of getting them in.’
While a third added: ‘Trying to get the Stranger Things Hellfire Club T-Shirt in Primark is literally the PS5 scenario all over again. It’s sold out everywhere.’
Sarah Jackson, Director of Licensing, Primark told Metro.co.uk: ‘The Stranger Things Season 4 collection has been a huge hit for Primark customers and Stranger Things fans globally.
‘The Hell Fire t-shirt has been hugely popular, and we will be stocking more Hell Fire merchandise very soon.’
