With more and more eco-companies popping up, we were spoilt for choice when putting together this week’s Cool List.
From slow fashion collections by Aligne and John Smedley to reusable beauty and skincare, it’s becoming easier and easier to shop sustainably.
Are you a clumsy coffee lover? TOPL’s reusable cup is both planet and latte-saving.
Read on below to get shopping.
Aligne sustainable fashion collection
Sustainable fashion brand Aligne uses deadstock fabric (leftover fabric that goes to waste) and eco-friendly fabrics.
This month it has teamed up with style muse Brittany Bathgate to create a minimalist 15-piece collection — the masculine Ellen coat, £185, the Eena checked skirt, £69, and matching Ebbanie crossback top, £49, stand out as favourites.
Coffee cups are a no-brainer. One of our favourites is the TOPL, which has a spill-proof lid to safeguard against spills and burns by shutting a valve in the lid if the cup falls over.
We also love that you can have it monogrammed so you’ll never lose it.
Choose Slow collection
Choose Slow is the collection from designer John Smedley and activist Katharine Hamnett.
Made with sustainable fibres (New Zealand merino wool for knits and cotton tees), the collaboration encourages shoppers to assess where they buy clothing.
Even better, 20% of profits from each sale will be donated to the UKFT to further apprenticeships.
Quench vegan moisturiser bar
Say goodbye to plastic pumps and pots of cream. Quench vegan moisturiser bar comes in a compostable tube, and contains hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and vitamin B5 for healthy and hydrated skin that doesn’t compromise on your ethics.
Metallic Paper Penrose
LPOL has just launched its first 100% vegan handbag and we love it. The Metallic Paper Penrose is a vegan leather alternative crafted from eco-friendly recycled paper and coated in an Oeko-Tex-approved metallic silver foil.
Fiils beauty refills
Beauty refills are becoming big business. You order, use and then return and recycle the packaging for free.
Fiils sends out a reusable aluminium bottle and refill pouches that you return to be recycled after use.
The shampoo, conditioner, body and hand washes are just as ethical, with natural ingredients such as pomelo and coconut that are vegan-friendly. And for every purchase made, a tree is planted, making it an entirely carbon-neutral process.
