Gamers, line up.

The average gamer plays for one hour and 22 minutes during a session, according to a 2019 study – with 18-25 year-olds averaging almost two hours.

Though, every so often, some gamers will have sessions that go beyond a few hours – with 10% even playing for more than 10 hours at a time.

While it’s important to think about the impact this has on the brain, eyes and general body health, those common areas of concern don’t take everything into consideration.

An ergonomically suitable chair and gaming station is also key for any posture and back pain problems that might occur after a long gaming period spent static.

As a result, one brand is now looking for gamers to test their bean bags, designed for lounging, to see which are suitable for long play time.

Is it comfortable enough? Does your back feel supported? Could you sit there for hours?

One lucky individual will get to decide and set the tone for future gamers.

GreatBeanBags wants the ‘ultimate gamer’ to test their range of gaming bean bags to make sure they are up to task.

Advertised as a job, you can be paid £250 (£31.25 per hour) for a day of gaming, and get to keep the bean bags that are tested.

The successful applicant for the dream job will be sent four bean bags to test over an eight-hour period.

They’ll then need to score each bean bag on comfort, practicality and durability.

The highest-scoring bean bag will be granted the ‘gamer-approved’ badge on site.

Patrick Tonks, director of GreatBeanBags, says: ‘Gaming requires a lot of concentration, particularly when playing as a team, and who can concentrate when they are uncomfortable?

‘We know our bean bags are comfy for sitting but how do they hold out during long sessions of gaming?

‘We are looking for someone that is a regular gamer to put our gaming bean bags to the test during long stints of gameplay, ensuring we are giving gamers the best seating for their battles, adventures, raids and races.’

Anyone over the age of 18 can apply and will need to do so by the end of the month.
