The festive season is a time, if anything, for drinking themed beverages in cosy setups.
Sure, you could answer that call by having a mulled wine while sat next to your Christmas tree at home, but if you’re feeling a tad more bougie, here’s another option.
One of the London Eye’s pods will soon become the Christmas Pub Pod – a Christmas-themed pop-up bar created by Lastminute.com in partnership with Absolut Vodka.
Set to open on November 11, the rotating bar will offer a signature festive cocktail along with usual craft beers and wines, all of which will be available to sip as you look out at the London skyline, 443ft up in the air.
The pod has been given a cosy festive makeover to get you in this Christmas spirit, with a cocktail bar, a fully-functioning pun, Christmas crackers, and a frosting of snow.
The festive drinks, in case you’re wondering, aren’t your standard Baileys.
Instead you can take your pick from a gingerbread espresso martini or a cinnamon passion fruit martini. Very jazzy.
The experience is a little pricier than your average pub trip. Tickets cost £57.50 per person, but do give you a 30-minute rotation on the pod, one of the signature cocktails, a second drink from the beer and wine range, a souvenir cup to take away, and fast-track entrance.
A slot is available for groups of up to four guests (larger squads can book two separate orders for the same time and date), and you’re warned that you will share a pod with another party.
From Friday to Sunday, there are six slots between midday and 5pm, or from Monday to Thursday you can choose between a slot at 3pm or 5pm.
Sunny Jouhal, general manager at The lastminute.com London Eye, said: ‘London truly comes to life during the festive season and is one of the world’s most special cities to soak up the Christmas spirit.
‘We are delighted to offer this unique and magical experience to Londoners and visitors to the city.
‘With delicious creations from our partners at Absolut and breathtaking views of the capital, the Christmas Pub Pod is set to be one of the most unique fixtures on the capital’s festive agenda.’
Perhaps add this to your festive agenda – you can always schedule in a mulled wine for after the ride.
