Aldi is selling frozen turkeys – which could help you avoid Christmas shortages

Would you go frozen this Christmas? (Picture: Aldi)

If reports are to be believed, this Christmas could be a bit tricky.

With shortages of HGV drivers creating supply chain problems across a range of sectors, you might have noticed that the supermarket shelves are looking less full than normal.

So, if you’re thinking ahead to the big day in December and want to make sure you’re got all your favourites in to keep the family happy, you might have to think frozen.

Aldi is now selling frozen British turkeys – available from this week – which are perfect for those who want to prep for Christmas early this year.

Christmas shoppers can get ahead of the game with Aldi’s Large British Turkey Crown ( which costs £14.49, 2.4-2.8kg) or the Small British Turkey Crown (costing £11.49, 1.5–1.9kg).

Those with bigger families to feed, can go for Aldi’s Large Whole British Turkey (which will set you back £17.49, 5.4-7.2g), or the Small Whole British Turkey (which costs £11.49, 2.8-4.0g).

So, pop one in your freezer and you won’t have to worry about shortages, queues, or any other kind of crisis that might happen to pop up between now and December.

All you’ll need to think about is the trimmings.

You’ll also find Goose Fat Roast Potatoes, gourmet Specially Selected Balsamic Chargrilled Sprouts With Pine Nuts and Beef Dripping Yorkshire Puddings in Aldi’s freezers.

If you do decide to go frozen this Christmas, make sure you know how long your frozen turkey will last in the freezer – and how to cook it.
