Look great in the sun

Summer is finally here!

And while it’s always a joy to crawl onto a sun lounger and slip on beachwear, there are some risks to be found in the sun.

If you want to protect your body, and look great in the sun, it might be handy investing in some handy health and beauty products – and we’ve scoured the market to find you the best.

Check out our full selection below.

Tick Remover Card

Handy trick for pesky ticks

April to October is officially tick season, the time of year when tiny bloodsucking insects like to feast on outdoor-loving humans. Found on every continent, ticks love woods, long grass, riverside and moorlands – even urban parks.

Outwit them with the handy Tick Remover Card, which comes with a useful magnifying glass to hunt out any invaders.

Buy it for £4.99 from Ellis Brigham.

Escentual Sunscreen SPF50

Families safe in sun

Big praise for the folks at beauty website Escentual. For every Escentual Sunscreen SPF50 sold on the brand’s website, they will donate one to lower-income families across the UK this summer.

The brand has partnered with Clarins and Shiseido to do the same. Donations are made directly to schools and via charities with the aim to provide sun protection for 30,000 families in need.

Buy it for £6.95 from Escentual.

Nucao plant-based chocolate bar

Branch out with chocolate bar

Nucao is a plant-based chocolate bar with a conscience. Organic, vegan and natural, it comes in plastic-free packaging and five flavour varieties.

If tasting good wasn’t enough, the brand plants a tree for every bar sold and has so far planted 12 million. If you ever needed a good excuse to buy chocolate, here it is.

Buy it for £2.29 from Holland and Barrett.

Diptyque La Droguerie home cleaning product

Heavenly home cleaning (Picture: Patrick Parchet)

Big news from fragrance house Diptyque, which has just launched La Droguerie ‘magical yet useful cleaning products to brighten up everyday living’ that are refillable, recyclable and blend beauty with utility.

The fragrances (thanks to Diptyque’s perfuming expertise) include notes of fig and orange blossom, and basil and polished wood.

Buy from £16 at Diptyque Paris.

Bold Bean Co beans

Full of beans with top taste

Beans are among the most nutritious, sustainable and healthy foods we have – and when they’re by Bold Bean Co, they’re among the tastiest too.

These small batches of slow-cooked jarred heirloom beans are seasoned throughout the cooking process to enhance their natural flavour and, unlike many other brands, contain no additives, making them some of the most nutritious beans on the market.

Buy from £4 from Waitrose.
