If you like the 1968 film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, you’ll be enthralled with the possibility of living in the windmill as the Potts family did.
However, you’ll need a fortune equivalent to the affluent Truly Scrumptious to purchase it, as it’s on the market for a stunning £9 million.
Cobstone Mill, also known as Turville Windmill, is located in the lovely countryside of Ibstone, Buckinghamshire, around 20 minutes from High Wycombe.
It was the house of inventor Caractacus Potts and his children, Jemima and Jeremy, in the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, starring Dick Van Dyke and Sally Ann Howes.
Prior to becoming a famous piece of film history, it was a functional cereal mill from its construction in 1816 until 1873, when squatters set fire to the structure’s central post.
Cobstone Mill was aesthetically renovated in the 1960s after being let to degrade for a long time so that it could be utilised as a film set.

Hayley Mills and her first husband Roy Boulting later purchased the still-dilapidated mansion in 1971, restoring it to its former beauty via substantial repairs.
Since then, the mill has been owned by David Brown, the late former owner of Aston Martin, and has appeared in shows such as Goodnight Mister Tom, Midsomer Murders, Little Britain, and Jonathan Creek.
Its present owners have spent the last 18 months repairing the external sails of the Grade II listed structure, as well as renovating the inside.

A big living room and a winding staircase on the ground level lead up to two bedrooms on the first and second floors, both with views of the Hambleden Valley.
The deal also includes 37 acres of property with a swimming pool and barns, as well as a second house with six bedrooms.
A double-height living room with floor to ceiling doors extending out onto a spacious terrace overlooking the covered swimming pool can be found within the main flint house, which spans about 2,592 square feet.
If that’s not enough space for you, planning permission was obtained in 2016 to significantly enlarge and add a number of more rooms, allowing you to make the property into the fantastical house of your dreams.

Stephen Christie-Miller, of marketing agent Savills, said: From the beautiful architecture of the windmill to the spectacular views down the Hambleden Valley, Cobstone Mill has to be seen to be believed and this is even before you bring into consideration the home’s extensive film history.
‘I am sure that the homes unique heritage combined with today’s offering, in a prime Buckinghamshire location, will appeal to both domestic and international buyers that are looking for the best of the best.
‘Yes, some homes claim to be iconic, however nothing comes close to Cobstone Mill.’

Nicholas Brown, of Private View Property, added: ‘I am very fortunate to have acted in the sale and purchase of a great many of the finest homes over the course of 40 years.
‘However, I can safely say that Cobstone Mill is perhaps the very best known of them all. It is a true landmark and the setting and views are without doubt breath-taking.
‘To be able to market this iconic property is a huge privilege and for the next lucky owners, imagine inviting your friends to come and stay at the best-known windmill in the world.’
Unfortunately it doesn’t come with a flying car, but we can dream.
