What to write in a baby shower card

After the Covid pandemic saw people spending a lot more quality time together, you might have noticed a lot more pregnancy announcements across your social media feed.

Look at Little Mix; 2/3 of the band delivered babies just days apart from each other.

Whether people had been planning to start a family (or add to it) or just a happy accident from months of lockdown, a baby is always cause for celebration.

If your friends are starting to have children or you’re just running out of creative ways to congratulate the new parent/s, here are some heartfelt and humorous ways to pass on your best wishes.

What to write for a baby shower card

A rule of thumb is to always try and make it personal. If they know the assigned sex of the baby, make reference to their ‘new son’ or ‘new daughter’ along with any of the following messages.

Also, if they have children already, it’s always a nice personal touch to include them in any greetings.

New baby and baby shower messages‘Praying for a safe and healthy delivery for both you and baby.’

‘So happy for you. That’s going to be one lucky baby!’

‘They say it takes a village, and I hope you know you can count me as one of your villagers. We’ll be here to help you every step of the way.’

‘Can’t wait to meet the new addition!’

‘The world needs more good people, and with you as parents, your little one is bound to be one of the best.’

Funny new baby and baby shower messages

‘Here’s hoping they get Mum’s looks and Dad’s brains…’ (or the other way around depending on the parents!)

‘Sleep is overrated, babies are not. Congratulations!’

‘So happy for you and your new bundle of joy. Anyway, see you in about 18 years.’

‘Don’t worry. I’ve heard it gets easier after the first 18 years.’

‘Excited to see you’re having a baby, and even more that I’m not. I’ll drink to that for the both of us.’

Quotes about children and parenthood

‘There are places in the heart you don’t even know exist until you love a child.’ – Anne Lamott
