Confession time: we are obsessed with Nutella.
Oh yes, the chocolaty aphrodisiac.
We put on it on our toast in the morning, we dip our fruit into it for a snack, and we cover our desserts in it when it’s not rich enough. But even though we love this hazelnut spread, the truth is, it’s not healthy for you.
No matter how much Nutella focuses on it being made from hazelnut, it actually has four sneaky ingredients that can hurt your health. The company advertises this spread as being healthy, but it contains GMOs and is actually really not healthy for you or your children.
Here are the four worst ingredients that are in Nutella hazelnut spread.
This has become all the rage, but too much of anything can be a bad thing.
This sugary spread is specifically soy lecithin, which is really bad for you. Soy causes thyroid depression, weight gain, fatigue, delays menstruation, raises your risk of breast cancer, and can lead to premature puberty.
This ingredient not only causes your ketchup addiction, but the sugar in your Nutella might be worse.
The sugar is from a genetically modified sugar beet. It’s loaded with pesticides and has neurotoxins that kill brain cells because it’s able to cross the blood-brain barrier.
It’s very cheap and this sugar is something our bodies do not recognize as sugar. This sugar is also linked to ADD, ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, migraine, and more.
3. Skim milk
You might be thinking you’re doing yourself a favor by swapping out whole milk for skim, but it has pus from sick cows and the most dangerous type of cholesterol. Gross!
This skim milk comes from sick cows that are fed GMO corn, antibiotics, and more that are used to decrease the cost of production of the milk. This is the most diseased milk you can find on the market.
The cows produce an odorless white liquid that is then combined with powdered milk, which is really bad for you because it contains the worst cholesterol out there.
The tasty spread says it contains no artificial colors banking you won’t think twice, but it doesn’t say anything about artificial flavors.
Vanillin is an artificial flavor that is conveniently not mentioned by advertisers. Vanillin actually tricks your brain and taste buds into thinking you’re having vanilla. It also has neurotoxins that kill brain cells.
It’s also really bad for you because it causes addictions because it connects the receptors in your brain and causes these receptors to release serotonin, which is a hormone that makes you feel good. Vanillin is produced in Chinese petroleum-based factories, which is used to make gasoline or other byproducts, just FYI.
Yikes. Guess we need to cut back if we want to keep our brain cells.
