Warning: Spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home ahead.

Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire have proven they’re still the biggest Spider-Man fans by sneaking into an opening night screening of No Way Home together.

Our hearts can’t handle this one.

The actors, who both starred as Peter Parker before Tom Holland, celebrated their return to the franchise just like everyone else – by experiencing it on the big screen.

‘I still can’t believe it happened,’ Andrew said. ‘I snuck into a theater on opening night and just watched with my baseball cap on and my mask.

‘In fact, I was also with Tobey, me and Tobey snuck into a theater together and no one knew we were there. It was just a really beautiful thing to share together.’

The 38-year-old added to ET: ‘And to find a brotherhood with Tobey as well, and with Tom, and the fact that we do share a very unique experience.’

Following denial after denial, Andrew is finally able to speak about his sensational return as Peter alongside Tobey, 46, and Tom, 25, in No Way Home, which resulted in scenes that had every Spider-Man across the globe screaming in their cinema seats.

‘I felt very excited to just to be a fan again,’ he admitted to Variety. ‘On a base level, as a Spider-Man fan, just the idea of seeing three Spider-Men in the same frame was enough.’

And there’s no doubting the close bond between him and his co-stars as he revealed: ‘There’s a line I improvised in the movie, looking at [Tobey and Tom] and I tell them I love them. That was just me loving them.’

He was also able to give his Peter a form of redemption, resulting in a beautiful scene with Zendaya’s MJ that hearkened back to Gwen Stacey’s (Emma Stone) death in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

As for whether he’ll ever return to Spider-Man? That door seems very much open, with Andrew saying: ‘Yes, definitely open to something if it felt right.’

Andrew and Tobey appeared in No Way Home alongside returning stars including Alfred Molina (Doc Ock), Jamie Foxx (Electro) and Willem Dafoe (Green Goblin).

Zendaya returned as MJ alongside Jacob Batalon as Ned, with Benedict Cumberbatch back as Doctor Strange.

No Way Home, which has smashed the $1billion (£746million) mark at the box office, follows Peter as he desperately seeks help from Doctor Strange after his identity was revealed.

But, after his involvement, things go from bad to worse as some old enemies come back to haunt him.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is out now.
