Henry Cavill has given his thoughts on the lawsuit launched by the estate of Sherlock Holmes creator Arthur Conan Doyle in response to the Netflix film Enola Holmes.

The film stars Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown as Enola, the sister of Sherlock (Cavill) and Mycroft Holmes (Sam Claflin), who sets off to find her missing mother.

The film is based on the Enola Holmes series of books written by Nancy Springer – with Enola not appearing in the original stories created by Doyle in 1887.

The estate is suing the streaming platform, arguing that the Batman vs Superman actor’s portrayal is not the same as the published Sherlock Holmes stories but warmer and similar to how he is in the novels still under copyright.

When asked by GQ what he makes of the situation, Henry replied: ‘I mean, honestly, I don’t have a take on it. It’s a character from a page which we worked out from the screenplay. The legal stuff is above my pay grade.’

We also got his reaction to the recent video he posted on Instagram of himself building a gaming PC from scratch.

It quickly trended on Twitter and the response was overwhelmingly positive – watch it yourself to see why – and it has racked up over five million views.

The British actor was genuinely shocked by the fact everyone loved it.

‘I thought it was going to be quite niche. I thought that those fans that are very forgiving of me, and like the various things that I like, would probably like it. But I did not think that the internet was going to grab hold of it the way it did,’ the star said.

However he has not plans for a sequel…yet.

Henry shared: ‘With the new graphics cards that just game out, and hopefully some new CPUs that are coming out in the near future, I might do a little bit of an upgrade for the computer.’
