The release date for the latest instalment in the Fast and Furious franchise has been pushed back to May 2021.
F9 – which stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson and John Cena – was originally meant to premiere in May this year but the coronavirus outbreak meant they had to move it to April 2021.
But it will now be released on Memorial Day weekend on May 28, 2021, according to Variety.
The move comes after No Time To Die’s premiere date was delayed yet again from November 2020 to April 2, 2021.
We can’t have anything this year, it seems.
Meanwhile, we have to wait an extra month to see if F9 will be taking place in space.
Not content with racing on the streets of London, Rio, Havana and Miami, Fast and Furious bosses are thought to have set their sights on the galaxy for the next adventure.
After Ludacris – who plays Tej – previously suggested that ninth instalment could be going into space, Michelle Rodriguez appeared to confirm the plans.
When asked about the plans on Sirius XM, the Letty actress said: ‘Oh, no way. How did you guys find that out? See what happens?
‘People start talking behind the scenes, man. When a movie doesn’t come out and forget about it, things get out.
‘Nobody was supposed to know that!’
While Michelle didn’t let the exact storyline slip ahead of next year’s release, she did add that she wasn’t ’lucky enough’ to be one of the characters who left the earth’s atmosphere.
