Jennifer Lopez’s new romantic comedy will be going up against Marvel’s The Eternals at the box office as it’s due to be released on the same day.

Her new film, Marry Me, comes out on Valentine’s Day weekend and she stars as musical star Kat Valdez.

She agrees to marry stranger and maths teacher Charlie Gilbert (played by Owen Wilson) after her fiance (Maluma) at a huge wedding at Madison Square Garden.

Other stars include singer Saturday Night Live’s Sarah Silverman and Game of Thrones’ John Bradley.

And yes, there will be original songs.

Marry Me is scheduled for release on February 12, the same day as Eternals and Lee Daniels’ Billie Holiday biopic The United States vs Billie Holiday.

The 50-year-old recently revealed that lockdown didn’t stop the cast and crew from filming the movie.

In May, J Lo explained that she had to film scenes for the rom-com on Zoom.

‘It was me at home and Maluma in Colombia. We weren’t sure how it was going to work out,’ she explained.

Jennifer added to Variety: ‘Someone came in and set up a camera and lights, and then left because of social distancing. We had a Zoom call. I start doing the scene with Maluma and we’re hearing echoes and we’re all like, “Everyone has to mute.”

‘We were just figuring it out as we go. We got through the scene. It’s going to be in the movie. It’s not the ideal way of filmmaking, but we got it done.’

Late last year, before any sign of the lockdown, Owen and Jennifer were spotted filming in New York City, dressed up to the nines
