Michelle Pfeiffer has confirmed she’ll be back as Janet van Dyne in Ant-Man 3.
Fans were delighted when the actress’ character was able to safely return from the quantum realm at the end of the last movie.
Now the 62-year-old’s character will be back to join Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp, and Michael Douglas’ Dr. Hank Pym for more Marvel adventures.
The actress revealed the exciting news during an interview with InStyle’s Laura Brown on her Ladies First podcast.
She stated, ‘I’m supposed to do Ant-Man, the third one’, when asked about upcoming projects and said production was hoping to begin in Spring 2021.
Last year it was revealed Rick and Morty writer and co-producer Jeff Loveness had signed on to write the screenplay for the highly-anticipated movie.
Jeff confirmed the news with a tweet, writing: ‘.. I have found my Lear,’ along with a link to the story.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the director of the first two installments, 2015’s Ant-Man and 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, Peyton Reed, will be returning to direct the new movie.
Meanwhile, Lovecraft Country star Jonathan Majors has reportedly been cast as Marvel supervillain Kang the Conqueror.
Ant-Man 3 is expected to be released in cinemas in 2022.
