Netflix has a new smash thriller, and fans are going crazy over it.
Locked In, which premiered on November 1 and stars Rose Williams, Famke Janssen, Finn Cole, and Anna Friel, has everyone talking.
Set in the English countryside, this romantic thriller was the most-watched film on Netflix last week, with 17.8 million views, according to What’s On Netflix.
The plot revolves around a nurse who is investigating how one of her patients, who was hit by a car and is only able to communicate by blinking, wound up there.
Katherine (Famke Janssen) confesses a murder to her nurse Nicky (Anna Friel) through her blinks.
What follows is a sequence of flashbacks to Katherine’s life before the tragedy, and before she adopted Lina (Rose Williams), the daughter of her late closest friend.
Lina idolises Katherine and soon bonds with her chronically sick son, Jamie (Finn Cole), whom she subsequently marries.
As Jamie becomes the heir of his late father’s manor, where they all dwell, cracks appear and relationships deteriorate.
As Lina develops feelings for Jamie’s doctor, Robert (Alex Hassell), Katherine’s life and family are rocked by tragedy, which unfolds over the course of the 1h 37minute drama.
Viewers have given Nour Wazzi’s ‘dark and atmospheric’ film a 10/10.
‘Locked In on Netflix – 10/10 what a movie,’ said one viewer, while another took to X, formerly Twitter, and wrote: ‘Locked in on Netflix is definitely a 10/10 I highly recommend.’

It’s very dark and atmospheric,’ said another, while someone else chimed in with a further rave review for Anna’s acting, as they said: ‘Really enjoying Locked In on Netflix. Great cast, especially the never less than superb Anna Friel. I loved that searingly gifted performer even before THE iconic kiss and she has just gone from strength to strength in her career.’
Despite the social media buzz, reviewers aren’t pleased, with The Guardian awarding it only two stars. Ouch.
Famke may be familiar to you from her roles in James Bond‘s Golden Eye in 1995 and, more recently, as Eve Rothlo in How To Get Away With Murder.
Rose is most remembered for her roles as Charlotte Haywood in Sandition and Princess Claude in Reign.
Fans of the flatcap-heavy thriller Peaky Blinders will be delighted to meet Finn, who portrays Michael Grey in the show.
Meanwhile, Anna starred in the Netflix original series Marcella.
