Netflix’s Red Notice: Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds team up to bring down Gal Gadot in first trailer

The first trailer for Netflix’s new film, Red Notice, has finally dropped, and we’re already obsessed.

Fans have been not-so-patiently waiting for a glimpse at the upcoming blockbuster after Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds signed up to the star-studded cast.

Thankfully, film bosses listened to us all and shared an action-packed teaser ahead of the film’s planned release at the end of the year.

What is the plot of Netflix’s Red Notice?

Dwayne shows off his action credentials in the flick, starring as FBI profiler John Hartley, who is on the hunt for notorious art thief The Bishop (Gal Gadot).

‘How that you’ve been tagged with red notices, you become the world’s most wanted criminals,’ he warns in a menacing voiceover.

‘And I’m the only one who can bring you in.’

However, it doesn’t look like Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds) got that memo, as he does the absolute most to steal a prized piece of art from under everyone’s noses.

John and Nolan decide to team up in an attempt to bring the Bishop down, but will they manage it?

The official synopsis reads: ‘When an Interpol-issued Red Notice — the highest level warrant to hunt and capture the world’s most wanted— goes out, the FBI’s top profiler John Hartley (Dwayne Johnson) is on the case.

‘His global pursuit finds him smack dab in the middle of a daring heist where he’s forced to partner with the world’s greatest art thief Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds) in order to catch the world’s most wanted art thief, the Bishop (Gal Gadot).

‘The high-flying adventure that ensues takes the trio around the world, across the dance floor, trapped in a secluded prison, into the jungle and, worst of all for them, constantly into each other’s company.’

Red Notice is written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, who previously gave us Central Intelligence and Skyscraper, with Dwayne joining Hiram Garcia and Dany Garcia on the production side of things.

Who else is in the cast?

Along with The Rock, Reynolds and Gadot – just three of the biggest movie stars in the world right now – the cast also features Chris Diamantopoulos and The Umbrella Academy’s Ritu Arya

It’s been a strong year for Dwayne, as the WWE legend turned Hollywood heavyweight will also be setting sail on a sequel to Disney’s Jungle Cruise, which was released earlier this summer.

It truly is the Rock’s world and we’re all just living in it.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, bosses have been delighted with how well the epic has performed at the box office, and are taking the boat on another spin.

It has been claimed that Dwayne and Emily Blunt, who play skipper Frank Wolff and Dr Lily Houghton respectively, are well and truly on board for round two.

Bring it on.

When will Red Notice be released?

Red Notice will be exploding on Netflix from November 12 this year – mark it in your calendars!
