New Last Night In Soho trailer ramps up the tension as Anya Taylor-Joy and Thomasin McKenzie shine

The new trailer for Last Night In Soho has landed and turns the tension up to 11 as Thomasin McKenzie and Anya Taylor-Joy shine in Edgar Wright’s latest offering.

A young fashion designer Eloise (McKenzie) learns she has a gift to enter the 1960s where she meets the dazzling singer Sandy (Taylor-Joy), but her charmed life isn’t all it seems to be as Eloise witnesses a violent crime and races to change the past.

The glamour and murky underbelly of 60s London are both on display in the new clip, which teases more than a few scary scenes as Eloise hunts down a killer.

We also witness a murderous-looking Matt Smith all suited up with slicked back hair as the dangerous as Jack, the villain of the piece, who threatens Sandy with: ‘You think you can just walk away?’

The rest of the impressive cast includes Terence Stamp, Diana Rigg, Rita Tushingham, Michael Ajao and Synnøve Karlsen.

Fans were excited to see Wright going down a slightly more serious route when it comes to horror, after his Nick Frost and Simon Pegg partnership for the light-hearted Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, by which Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End are also known.

The official synopsis reads: ‘Eloise, an aspiring fashion designer, is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters a dazzling wannabe singer, Sandie. But the glamour is not all it appears to be and the dreams of the past start to crack and splinter into something far darker.’

The film slated for release later this year, but an exact date hasn’t been announced. Frustrating, we know!

Last Night In Soho is out in October.
