SAG Awards 2021: Chadwick Boseman receives posthumous nominations after tragic death

Chadwick Boseman has received two nominations for the upcoming Screen Actors Guild Awards 2021, months after his death.

The Marvel legend died last August following a battle with colon cancer, at the age of 43.

Following the tragedy, the star has been tipped for two SAG Awards – for his appearances in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and Da 5 Bloods.

Emily In Paris star Lily Collins and Hamilton’s Daveed Diggs announced the nominations in a live Instagram session.

Chadwick was mentioned in the category for outstanding performance by a male actor in a leading role, for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, alongside Riz Ahmed, Anthony Hopkins, Steven Yeun and Gary Oldman.

His work in Da 5 Bloods was also honoured with a nomination for outstanding performance by a male actor in a supporting role, with Sacha Baron Cohen, Daniel Kaluuya, Jared Leto and Leslie Odom Jr also competing for the gong.
