Seth Rogen has already seen Borat 2 ‘six times’ and has some views on sequel

Everyone is looking forward to Sacha Baron Cohen returning in Borat 2 when it drops on Amazon Prime this Friday, but no one is as excited about it as Seth Rogen.

While most of us learned about the comedy sequel just a few weeks ago, the Pineapple Express actor appears to have had more than a few sneak peeks.

‘I’ve seen #Borat2 around six times over the last few months, and I can’t wait to watch it a seventh,’ he tweeted this week.

Sharing his review of the film, he went on: ‘It’s crazy and wonderful and couldn’t be more timely.

‘It also has a few of the funniest scenes I’ve ever seen in a movie. I’m excited for you to see it.’

Seth is stoked, people.

Borat 2, full title Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice Premiere Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan, will drop on Amazon less than two weeks before the US presidential election.

The secretly-filmed follow-up to Sacha’s 2006 hit sees the iconic Kazakh journalist on a mission to ‘save 2020’, all while getting up to his characteristic hijinks along the way.

But working on the project wasn’t all fun and games for the 49-year-old filmmaker, who said he feared for his life at one point while filming during lockdown.

He told Time magazine: ‘While filming my latest Borat film, I showed up as a right-wing singer at a gun-rights rally in Washington State. When organisers finally stormed the stage, I rushed to a nearby get-away vehicle.

‘An angry crowd blocked our way and started pounding on the vehicle with their fists. Under my overalls, I was wearing a bulletproof vest, but it felt inadequate with some people outside toting semiautomatic weapons.

‘When someone ripped open the door to drag me out, I used my entire body weight to pull the door back shut until our vehicle maneuvered free. I was fortunate to make it out in one piece.’

We’re also wondering if former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani might make an appearance after he claimed he was pranked by the comedian.

Either way, we’re expecting this film to be very nice indeed.

Borat 2 drops on Amazon Prime Friday October 23.
