The internet has been beyond excited over claims Tobey Maguire, Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield are set to star together in a new Spider-Man flick.
According to reports that have been sweeping the world wide web, the three actors best known for playing the superhero could star together in a real-life ‘Into The Multiverse’ version of the film.
Maguire, 45, played Peter Parker from 2002 to 2004 in the iconic trilogy of films while Garfield, 37, took over in a franchise reboot in 2012 and 2014.
Holland, 24, made his first on-screen appearance as the web-slinger in 2016 and have fast become a fan-favourite after starring in Marvel’s Avengers films.
When contacted about the rumours, Sony Pictures told ET Canada: ‘Those rumoured castings are not confirmed.’
Our spidey senses can’t help but tingle at the fact this isn’t a complete denial!
The idea of the trio coming together for Spider-Man 3 certainly feels like a possibility due to recent reports claiming Jamie Foxx will be joining the cast.
The actor, 52, had previously portrayed super-villain Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014 – when Sony Pictures had the rights to the Marvel Comics character.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jamie ‘is in final talks’ to reprise the role for the third instalment in the series.
The upcoming Spider-Man movie is expected to be released on December 17 2021.
