Spider-Man fans believe the Sinister Six could feature prominently in the upcoming movie from the franchise.
The new film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, is set for release in December this year and eagle-eyed movie fans think they spotted something important in the trailer which dropped on Tuesday.
The Sinister Six comprises of Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Electro, Vulture, and Mysterio.
Sony owns the movie rights for these characters and bosses were planning on releasing a film featuring them.
Fans are also convinced former Spider-Man stars Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield will make an appearance.
Taking to Twitter to share about the theory, one person wrote: ‘So from what I know about #SpiderManNoWayHome there will be a scene where Tom’s Spidey faces the Sinister Six by himself, and is eventually overwhelmed, and there’s a scene where all 3 spider-man divide and conquer, each Spidey takes on a separate villain.’
Another wrote: ‘That would be sick. In all honesty I feel like it’s too soon for a Spider verse or Sinister Six fight but whatever, I’ll take it.’
‘The Sinister Six versus three Spider-Mans better happen! Mephisto, Electro, Sandman, The Lizard, Goblin and Doc Oc.. the pieces are there!’, a Twitter user said.
Meanwhile, a follower tweeted: ‘So, we can all agree that No Way Home is going to end with the Sinister Six threatening everyone. The question is if we’ll get to meet our old Spidey friends in this movie or if they are going to wait for Spider Man 4.
‘Personally, I’d love an entrance near the end and a full movie.’
Lizard or Scorpion was also present in the trailer. I think it was Lizard. They’re setting up Sinister Six vs Spider-mans

‘He definitely looks way younger than he did in the original Spider an but don’t forget about Lizard he is in the trailer too, they might bring the Sinister Six into this, [sic]’ a viewer guessed.
As one added: ‘A lot of movies nowadays have a tendency on giving out too much. I already know the premise, multiverse, old villains coming back, multiple Spider Men, I’m assuming the Sinister Six is involved, so that’s enough to me.’
Sony officially unveiled the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home at CinemaCon on Monday night, the day after it was leaked online.
This is believed to be Tom Holland’s last outing as Spidey, following a clash between Sony and Marvel over the character.
No Way Home is in cinemas on December 17.
